Wonderful Industrial Park | Shafter, CA

DPSI was contracted to prepare preliminary engineering design reports and studies, civil improvement plans and land surveying services for Wonderful Industrial Park located in Shafter, CA. Wonderful Industrial Park is a 1,625 acre industrial development that is fully entitled for up to 26 million square feet and offers build-to suit facilities up to 2.8 million square feet.

DPSI’s scope of work includes:

Preliminary Engineering Design and Studies

  • Development of a project base map to be used as the basis of plan and studies
  • Preparation of an overall site conceptual grading plan that includes roadway elevations, pad elevations and basin design
  • Provide a master drainage study of the area based on the proposed uses and layout that will includes basin sizing, inlet locations, flow depths at curbs and pipe sizing based on the City of Shafter Standards
  • Research available flood information through the City of Shafter, County of Kern and FEMA to find the limits of the flood zone
  • Conduct a master sewer study of the area to determine pipe sizes, pipe locations, and the need for sewer lift station and/or force mains
  • Research water availability, water well locations and infrastructure

Land Surveying Services

  • Preparation of land divisions
  • Provide easement, right-of-way, quitclaim documents and legal descriptions
  • Preparation of topographic, ALTA/ACSM land title and engineering design surveys

Civil Improvement Plans and Surveying Services

  • Perform a field topographic survey to obtain information on existing conditions upon which all civil engineering design and calculations were based
  • Preparation of right-of-way legal descriptions and exhibit plats as required for the proposed street alignments and a public improvement plan set to include civil engineering design and road improvement plans
  • Provide a storm water hydraulic model and analysis for the road improvements based on the DPSI master drainage analysis
  • Preparation of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) booklet
